There are of course many different accommodation options for your trip to Liebenstein and Stuttgart.
We will briefly give you a  rough idea of what is available:

Stuttgart is the major city in the region. There are lots of hotels, and also many things to see and do in Stuttgart.
Stuttgart is 33 km away, which translates to a € 65.- cab ride.
Trains are also available, but unfortunately not at night. A train is, however, a much cheaper option - only € 7.20...

It might be best to book into a hotel near Neckarwestheim, which is the town next to Liebenstein.
There are many nice places to stay around Neckarwestheim, however, unfortunately most beds
in Neckarwestheim are already booked out, as the nuclear power station
has 500 guest workers visiting for an annual conference...

Good news!!!

We have been able to secure a number of rooms in the Hotel am Markt in Neckarwestheim,
which is only a couple of minutes drive away from Liebenstein.
On top of this, at this stage we still have a booking for 9 rooms at the Hotel Elefanten in Lauffen,
which also is quite close (see below).

Please send us an email as soon as possible, if you would like to book into one of these hotels.
Prices for double rooms are 70 € and 75 €, respectively. Single rooms in the Hotel am Markt are 55 €.

There are three little villages/towns along the Neckar river, all very close to Neckarwestheim which offer accommodation:
Lauffen, Talheim, and Walheim

There are a few nice places in the nearby town of Lauffen. The "Hotel Elefanten"
has been recommended to us as the best address in Lauffen.

Hotel Elefanten

There are also cheaper options available, you'll find these on the website of Lauffen.

You can get to Lauffen by train (Deutsche Bahn), by car (obviously), or even by ship...

By train: there are trains roughly every half an hour, for example, a train leaving "Stuttgart Hbf" at 11:15,
arrives in "Lauffen (Neckar)" at 11:52. You can find train connections on the website of the "Deutsche Bahn".
Don't bother pre-booking a ticket, you just have to buy it at the station before you board the train,
tickets are € 7.20 (as per 30.05.05).

A cab from Lauffen to Schloss Liebenstein will cost around € 15.- (Taxi Carrara 07133-5655)

By car: From Stuttgart go on to the A 81 (northbound, i.e. direction Heilbronn),
take the exit "Ilsfeld", then go through Ilsfeld to Lauffen or directly to Neckarwestheim.
You'll find a great map when you type in "Neckarwestheim" into the map finder from viamichelin
It should only take you about one hour, however, allow for more time. It can be a bit tricky...

The owner of the "Elefanten" in Lauffen recommendd to us the "Hotel Sonne" in Talheim.
Phone +49-(0)7133-98510
Talheim is the next village down the river. Cab charges should be about the same (€ 15,-).

There is also another little village nearby, with a similar name - "Walheim".
They have a website with some Hotels and B&Bs as well.
Cabs to Liebenstein should roughly cost the same (€ 15,-)

Enjoy a visit to an "old" European website here, if you'd like.
Unfortunaltely you can't stay at the old Roman House.
